Funny in parts, but it tries WAY to hard, without much success.
I've always been a fan of good spoof movie, and when the Scary Movie series was a little fresher I really looked forward to seeing them. Scary Movie 4 pushes each bit much further than it needs to, ruining the funny parts by wringing out every little laugh.
A few cameos were thrown in here and there without a lot of laughs. In particular the Shaquille O'neal and Doctor Phil bit started off pretty funny, but ended up really lame.
The only bits I really enjoyed were the jabs taken at Tom "crazy man" Cruise, they were worth watching over and over, and over again.
Sorry folks, free TV only!

Creepy? YEP! Worth watching? oh yeah!
Did you ever see the movie Event Horizon?? Do you remember that it seemed to be a movie that was SSSOo close to being good but ends up JUST missing the mark? Silent Hill is just like that.
Silent is a movie based on a video game, and before you think of the horrific "Doom" movie DON'T! This movie has some real creepiness, from the mood and lighting, to the FANTASTIC sci-fi characters. Pyramid head was great, but not used enough. The "nurses" that are attracted to light were truly creepy. But the best by far were the "ash babies". My jawed dropped when I saw these "things" advancing towards our heroin.
Were this movie falls apart, is where the Sean Bean Character is involved, a completely missused character. You have 2 choices, use him more OR less, I vote for MUCH less. The other downfall is misuse of the public school. They had every chance to make this part truly terrifying, make it darker, SLOWER, use the surround speakers for more ambiance. Don't just show us how the school changes from the evil and all the flesh eating cockroaches, make it dark even during daylight.
P.s. SEE it, you may not love it, but you'll love the first rate effects.
OH, the ending has the most obvious setup for a sequel I've ever seen, but I'm looking forward to it none the less.
Later,
Brent
