January 20 2011 ... too young, but maybe he's happy now!

My Dad has been gone for a month, I still hope he'll come around the corner and ask me some silly question "windy enough for you??", "what channel is Judge Judy on?"

Hey Dad, the remote worked fine the next day!

Love, your son, Brent!

P.s. Say HI to Mom for me!

1000 killed every year for "research"!

Just a quick post here so READ IT!

Isn't it odd that Japan still hunts whales in the name of research and sells the excess domestically? there is a ban on whaling and the international community allows this to continue??

Keep up your good work Sea Sheppard, maybe the world will listen before another couple of species are wiped out!

CBC funding and Citizenship for illegal work

OK, I have a question of whether you think the CBC should receive over a 1 Billion Dollars ever year from the government and then refusing almost every attempt at finding out about the business that IS the CBC.

Remember that this is a publicly funded company that refuses, even when requested through an "access to information" request to tell us where it spends OUR MONEY, and when they do give something it's like a top secret folder where everything is blacked out because it will give the competition a "competitive advantage".

I'd say DROP THE FUNDING, and let's see if it can survive!

"""QMI Agency reported over the weekend that senior Citizenship and Immigration Canada officials had said illegal work experience could count towards an application through the provincial nominee program.

“We can count illegal work for PNP, but at the same time we need to have a confirmation of the illegal work,” Jacqueline Desjardins, senior analyst at CIC's national headquarters wrote in an e-mail.

Desjardins has now been overruled by Jason Kenney, the minister in charge of the department.

“We were outraged to hear that illegal work experience could count in favour of an applicant for permanent residency,” said Kenney spokesman Alykhan Velshi."""

ONLY IN CANADA do you get credit for NOT paying you taxes!!!

------------------------------------

Remember the Guy that came to Canada made up as a 70 years old "Caucasian" man just so he could bypass our immigration system , and was caught when somebody noticed his hands were WAY to youthful to be from an old man???

HE GETS TO STAY IN CANADA!! Read this story and tell me it doesn't piss you off!

TELL ME OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM ISN'T BROKEN!

You're hurt?? Suck it up KID!

Going back over a month here, sorry been busy!

You'd think with a bone sticking out of your leg the staff at Princess Margaret Junior School MIGHT be willing to help, but supposedly all they said was "hop on one foot" and they even refused to call 911, and when the girls Mother showed up they refused to let her call 911 from the office phones, and then refused to relay the address to a 911 dispatcher when the Mother handed them her cell phone. This is all because of the "liability insurance" issue ...........You'd think the staff would think about the kids FIRST .... I guess that's changed! HERE'S a LINK;

China .... as corrupt as I thought!

It just gets more and more troubling dealing with Chinese made goods when shopping, not only because the good people of that Country are earning way less than they should BUT;

-They artificially keep their dollar down to reduce costs, it means we get cheaper products that undercut local manufacturers, kinda sounds like Blockbuster undercutting ever other video retailer until they're all gone and then jacking the prices up to where they were before.

-CRAPPY product quality ...within reason the old adage "you get what you pay for" holds true, but North Americans LOVE cheap product and have no problem replacing the product every few year when they could have bought a quality piece that would last them for decades.

-They underpay their employees to a point where they work long hours and never get ahead, they still live in poverty. The good news is that the people are starting to fight back and demand more competitive wages ... which will raise prices, and allow other manufacturer to be more competitive .....so it probably won't be happening any time soon.

-They are the world largest holder of American debt .... imagine if they called it in!

-They are a communist society, and have treated the Buddhist's in Tibet horribly .... just search online!

BEIJING — "In a case that has prompted a number of appeals from the White House, a Chinese court on Friday upheld the conviction of an American oil geologist sentenced to eight years in prison on charges of industrial espionage.

The geologist, Xue Feng, a naturalized American citizen born in China, was convicted in July of violating the country’s vague state secrets laws after he obtained an oil industry database for his employer, IHS Energy, a consulting company in Colorado.

His lawyers say the information was classified as secret only after he bought it. Given the government’s control of domestic petroleum production, several Western industry experts have questioned whether possessing such data could have any impact on China’s security."

Doesn't that sound odd?? What's worse is a Chinese court of law upheld the conviction ... talk about wrongly convicted.

-How about the fact that the Government of Canada found out there website security had been breached from a location in China .....courtesy of the Calgary Herald

"""The Treasury Board of Canada confirmed Wednesday night that the department had suffered "an unauthorized attempt to access its networks," after a CBC report said a cyberattack originating in China had compromised the e-mails of top-ranking government officials.

The attack, believed to have started more than a month ago, forced both the Treasury Board and Finance Department to limit employee access to the Internet at both departments while investigators attempt to ascertain the breadth of the hackers' intrusion.

Jay Denney, a spokesman for Treasury Board president Stockwell Day, said in an e-mail late Wednesday that "officials responsible for security have taken appropriate action in response to the threat."

In its report, CBC termed the attack "unprecedented" in that hackers hijacked the "online identities" of top bureaucrats and then sent documents infected with a virus to employees throughout the departments.

The hackers are believed to have accessed classified information."""

Supposedly they were looking at whether the Canadian government was discussing the valuation of the Yuan(China's currency).

-Something that really pisses me off is that my hope the seal hunt would finally end ..... NOPE, China has "opened the doors" to Canadian seal product! ....

I could also bring up the amount of industrial espionage that China is responsible for, but I think we knew they we the leaders in that area.
